macOS Sequoia
Apple’s latest Mac operating system macOS 15 Sequoia was released this week.
Whilst tests are still on-going and the installation of a new operating system on critical systems is always to be approached with caution, initial findings are that LiquidSonics plug-ins are working with the new operating system’s 15.0 release as they were throughout the beta period during the summer.
If you upgrade to the new version and find any problems, please report them via support for investigation noting hardware types/revisions and the software affected.
AMD Zen 5
A serious compatibility issue has been identified with a large number of iLok protected software products and the latest AMD Zen 5 based CPUs. This includes devices such as those known under the “Ryzen 9000” (e.g. 9900X), “Ryzen AI 9” and “Ryzen AI 300” brand names. While this is a developing topic and more information needs to be gathered a number of clients using these CPUs have confirmed the issue also affects LiquidSonics plug-ins.
There is presently no solution or workaround for the issue available to plug-in developers. Since LiquidSonics became aware of the problem last week technical a dialog has been on-going with Pace, and if a software patch is required for LiquidSonics plug-ins to correct the issue this will be prioritised.
For the latest information from Pace and more about their understanding of the technical nature of the issue please refer to the Pace’s technical support FAQ.
Update 9 October 2024
A software patch has been provided by Pace which when combined with license manager v5.9.1 resolves the issue. Most LiquidSonics reverbs (all except Tai Chi) have been rebuilt and are now available for download restoring functionality on systems incorporating AMD Zen 5 CPUs.
